Greetings to all from Sterile Feral and Mason, our spokescat. Mason looked so happy while he enjoyed playing in the leaves during our short Fall season this year. During this holiday season, he and his person are especially grateful that Sterile Feral was here to help him have a happy, healthy life. For those who don’t remember, Mason had twine embedded in his neck for almost a year, from kitten-hood to young adulthood and which had to be surgically removed after his Sterile Feral person was able to catch him.
In addition to over 9000 neuter/spay surgeries since 2006, Sterile Feral has helped with many medical emergencies for cats who had no other options. Our veterinarians have removed mangled legs, sutured 10 inch wounds, repaired botched declaws, cured many upper respiratory infections, saved infected eyes and treated many abscesses, just to name a few. All of these cats could easily have suffered longer or had their lives lost completely without people who cared enough to take them in and call Sterile Feral to assist.
Our goal is not only neuter/spay, but to keep tame cats in homes that actually care about them and, for the feral’s, keep them in safe territories. If you can make a lifetime commitment to the cat, we can help make that possible with life-saving veterinary care and neuter/spay. We could not do any of this without our skilled veterinarians who make themselves available to help with medical needs, and without our donators who make this possible with their generosity. We owe both more gratitude than can ever be expressed. We also owe a huge debt of gratitude to the few volunteers who do all of the actual work, from helping with monthly spay days to making fund-raising events happen.
The need for more dedicated people to volunteer is great and is described in more detail here. If there are any of those jobs that appeal to our readers, please consider calling or emailing. All are necessary parts of our ability to assist the cats in many ways and all are important and rewarding. Happy Holidays, purrs from the cats and many thanks to all!

Thank you Sterile Feral for your wonderful work. Patcie wieland
